1999 FEATURE CAR
1955 NARDI BLUE RAY I
The BMW Seattle Classic Motorcar Rally is pleased to announce the feature
car for the 1999 event. It is the 1955 Nardi Blue Ray I. The Nardi Blue
Ray (Raggio Azzura) I, designed for the 1955 auto shows at Turin, Paris
and New York, is owned by Jim Simpson, who also owns the Blue Ray II. Jim
is a resident of Whidbey Island, through which the 1999 Rally will pass.
It was built on a Lancia Panamerican road-racing tubular chassis from the
Lancia B20 Coupe. This one-off show car design offers 190 bhp at 5500 rpm
and is capable of 140 mph.
To see the Blue Ray I and have a fantastic weekend of vintage rallying,
join us June 10-13th, 1999.
The Nardi Blue Ray I features a large, central headlight.
Clearly a show car, bumper protection is minimal.
